Taste of Georgetown
The Taste of Georgetown is a restaurant crawl format with the restaurants located along Front Street in Georgetown, South Carolina and under a tent at Francis Marion Park. Tickets are sold in advance and at the event for food samples from each of the over 20 participating restaurants and service organizations.
In addition, may retail shops offer discounted merchandise on the day of the event.
The Taste of Georgetown is a fundraiser for the Family Justice Center, a 501(C)3 non-profit organization providing coordinated services and educational programs for victims of domestic violence. The Family Justice Center has provided services to over 650 victims of domestic violence. Obviously there is a critical need for this service and your attendance at the Taste of Georgetown helps to support this critical community service.
Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, batter, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior perpetrated by an intimate partner against another.
The Family Justice Center model is based on the first Family Justice Center which opened in San Diego in 2002. Since that time, over 50 family justice centers have opened nationwide.
